Emoji Meaning
A fax machine, as scans and transmits documents over a telephone line. Common in the 1980–90s before the internet. Depicted as a white or black machine with a telephone handset, keypad, display screen, and paper in its tray. Very occasionally used as icon before a fax number or as a pun on facts.
Not to be confused with ðŸ–¨ï¸ Printer.
Fax Machine was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010
and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
